Flood reaches Batangas hospital ward, emergency room; 4 bridges temporarily close due to 'Kristine'

The Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery town was forced to close its door from incoming patients after its ward and emergency room was flooded as a result of heavy downpour from tropical storm ‘Kristine”.

In a statement, the Batangas provincial government advised that the hospital is now temporarily implementing a no admission policy.

In photos posted on the Batangas Public Information Facebook page, it showed an almost knee-deep flood outside the hospital.

The Batangas provincial government is now coordinating with the Lemery Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in the conduct of emergency response for the residents affected by the flooding.

Heavy rains and strong winds continue to pound the Batangas province, resulting in flooding in several areas.

In Batangas City, four bridges were temporarily closed to ensure the safety of motorists amid threat of overflowing of rivers.
