Taguig LGU opens Lingap Center for abused, abandoned children


The Taguig City government opened a new Lingap Center that will serve as a temporary home for rescued children. 

Located in Barangay Palingon, the Taguig Lingap Center has dormitories for boys and girls, nursery, reading nook, kitchen, dining area and activity space, counseling room, clinic, and a playground, according to the city government.  

Mayor Lani Cayetano led the inauguration of the center together with other city officials.

She said the Lingap Center is for “abused, abandoned, neglected and surrendered children. 

“Temporary home po ito habang sila ay nag-aantay ng foster family or forever home (This is a temporary home while they are waiting for a foster family or forever home),” she posted on Facebook. 

The center provides medical services, psychological support, spiritual activities, social services, case management, paralegal assistance, aftercare services, and outreach programs.

It currently has 43 residents and is operated by 36 personnel including social workers, psychometricians, caregivers, nurses, educators, security personnel, and house parents.
