The Philippines has been recognized as the third best destination for long-staying tourists in a recent global e-commerce study conducted by Ubuy, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.
Evaluating over a hundred countries, the study highlighted the Philippines’ appeal for extended stays, noting its affordability, cultural richness, safety, and travel convenience.
With a score of 55.74, the country emerged as the second most affordable option for long vacations, with an average cost of approximately $943 for a 20-day stay.
The nation’s five-month tourist season and moderate crime index further bolster its reputation as a safe and welcoming choice for travelers seeking immersive experiences.
In light of this recognition, the DOT encourages visitors to extend their stays to fully explore the country's diverse cultural and natural attractions while supporting the local economy.
By assessing crucial factors such as affordability, safety, cultural offerings, and accessibility, the study underscores the Philippines' status as a premier destination for tourists worldwide.
