Las Piñas LGU ready for TS 'Kristine'

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar ordered the city's Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council to be ready for possible evacuation of residents, especially those living in areas with high risk of flooding due to Tropical Storm Kristine.

The mayor said members of the DRRM Council already conducted a pre-disaster risk assessment composed of barangay emergency response teams, debris clearing teams, and city command centers.

Rescue equipment was also on standby for evacuation of those who would be affected by flooding.

She urged residents who are living in areas with high risk of flooding to immediately contact their barangays for evacuation.

In addition, she also ordered the preparation of relief goods, medicines, and medical kits.

Residents were reminded to be always prepared and on alert for weather updates.
