3 siblings yield P1.3-M shabu in Bacolod


BACOLOD CITY – Three siblings were arrested and 200 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.3 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan here on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Police identified the suspects as Eron, 35, Ilyn, 26, and Irene, 34, all residents of Barangay Mansilingan.

Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said Eron and Irene were tagged as high-value individuals while Ilyn was identified as a street-level individual in the illegal drugs trade.

Benitez said that they were subjected to the operation after they were reported for drug pushing.

He said the suspects’ two other siblings were also jailed for drug peddling.

Recovered from the suspects were the P1,000 marked money, P19,000 boodle money, and P500.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office reported that suspected shabu valued at P13.8 million was seized from Oct. 14 to 20 during the MassKara Festival celebration. Twelve suspected drug pushers were arrested in nine operations.
