3 arrested for illegal gambling, possession of shabu in Muntinlupa


Police arrested three men, including an 18-year-old, for illegal gambling and possession of illegal drugs in Muntinlupa on Oct. 22. 

The three were arrested at about 4:10 p.m. during an operation of the Muntinlupa Police in Barangay Bayanan. 

The police identified the suspects as alias Charlie, 18; alias Gerald, 20; and alias Carlo, 22, who were caught playing cara y cruz.

Confiscated from them were P1,330 in bet money and three P1 coins used as flippers.

The police also found two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 13 grams valued at P88,400.

Another suspect, alias JC, managed to evade arrest. The police launched a manhunt to arrest him. 

According to the police, Charlie and Carlos have police records related to illegal gambling while Gerald also had a history of offenses. 

Complaints for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Presidential Decree 1602 (Prescribing Stiffer Penalties On Illegal Gambling) will be filed against the suspects before the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor's Office.

“We will continue to intensify our operations against illegal activities. Our goal is to create a safer environment for all residents, and we encourage the community to report any suspicious activities,” said Southern Police District chief Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang said.
