The municipal government of Tanay, Rizal has started a series of activities in preparation for the 418th foundation day of the municipality in November.
On Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, residents will be treated to a free movie viewing at Tanay Park, the town’s premade park for the Family Movie Night.
Also on Friday, starting at 6 p.m., the compound at Tanay Public Market is expected to be filled with music lovers as rock bands 6 Cyclemind and Dionne will entertain residents in the “Ginuman Fest 2024”.
The office of Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco said entrance tickets holders will have access to the concert venue where drinks will be on sale.
Tickets are available at Thriftmart Tanay, Eastern Tanay Supermarket, Marcxqtina’s Minimart, Mercy O1, Mercy O2, and Mercy O3, and Michanmar Minimart.
Food stalls and kiosk offering a variety of dishes, from grilled to gourmet food, including leveled-up street foods, are featured in the Banchetto event on Dancel Street until November 17.
On October 24, Thursday, and November 7 and 8, military personnel will be jogging in the streets of the town proper starting at 4 a.m. synchronizing with their military chants.
The official grand salvo of the foundation day celebration, known as "Tanay Hane Festival 2024" will start on November 8 with a mob artists event, Zumba, and a pro-environment raffle promo in Tanay Park.
This year's theme highlight's the town's culture, arts, and environment, according to the office of Vice Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco.
The town’s beautiful ladies will be revealed and crowned at the grand coronation night of the "Binibining Tanay 2024" on November 8 at 6 p.m. in Tanay Park.
On November 9, the streets of the town will be filled with participants to the People’s Parade that will start at the municipal compound to the public market. Street dancing competition will follow at 6 p.m. at the public market terminal.
Other events are also lined-up in November highlighting the town’s rich culture and traditions in time for the 418th foundation anniversary of the municipality on November 12.
