Pasig LGU to hold mega job fair, OFW caravan on Oct. 25


The local government of Pasig City is calling all Pasigueños who are looking for work to prepare their job applications for the upcoming mega job fair to be held at Robinsons Metro East on Friday, October 25.

Around 60 local and overseas companies will participate in the job fair which will take place on the third floor of the mall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To check the list of job vacancies available on the day of the job fair, applicants can visit the official Facebook account of the city's Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

There will also be a one-stop shop for first-time job seekers who want to avail themselves of free police clearance or registration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and SSS. 

To avail of the free services, applicants should bring a valid ID and a barangay certificate stating that they are a first-time job seeker and a resident of the said barangay, including the number of months or years of residence. It noted that they must have been residents of the barangay for more than six months.

The one-stop shop will also be open to all applicants who wish to address their concerns with national agencies present at the job fair.

In addition, various services provided by the national government for Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) will also be available during the job fair.

The services include a welfare and legal desk, an e-registration help desk, reintegration assistance, and a seminar/orientation on anti-illegal recruitment and trafficking-in-persons (AIR-TIP) from the Department of Migrant Workers, as well as an OFW Help Desk supported by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and an information desk about programs and services from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas.

The local government urged interested applicants to prepare multiple copies of their updated résumé and their own pen.
