As one of the fastest-growing brands in the country, Astara-backed GAC Motor Philippines has reported a significant increase in sales for the first three quarters of 2024. The company sold 2,511 units from January to September, marking a 106% rise compared to the same period last year. This performance displays GAC Motor’s strong market momentum and growing acceptance among Filipino consumers.

According to data from the Truck Manufacturers’ Association (TMA) and the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), GAC Motor has emerged as the second top-selling Chinese automotive brand in the Philippines for passenger vehicles. The brand’s success is largely driven by the popularity of its key models, including the GS3 Emzoom crossover, the M6 Pro MPV, and the M8 luxury minivan. These vehicles have continued to attract attention for their mix of modern design, advanced features, and reliable performance.

A major contributor to GAC Motor’s positive sales trajectory is its effort to expand its dealer network throughout the country. The brand currently operates 29 dealerships nationwide and plans to increase that number to 38 by the end of 2024. This expansion aims to make GAC Motor more accessible to customers across the Philippines, with a focus on establishing a presence in key urban and regional areas. Dealerships are already operational in major locations, with new locations such as Calamba, Tacloban, and Zamboanga set to open soon.

GAC Motor has also introduced new models to cater to the evolving preferences of Filipino customers. One key development is the launch of the Emkoo Hybrid, the company's first hybrid vehicle in the local market. The Emkoo Hybrid reflects GAC Motor’s commitment to offering environmentally friendly mobility solutions without compromising on performance. As hybrid and electric vehicles gain popularity, this addition helps GAC align with the trend towards more sustainable automotive options in the Philippines.

The current GAC Motor lineup is designed to appeal to a wide variety of customer needs. The range includes the sporty Empow sedan, the Emzoom crossover, the futuristic Emkoo compact SUV, the GS8 flagship SUV, and two versatile MPVs—the family-oriented M6 Pro and the upscale M8. These models come equipped with the latest safety technologies, including multiple airbags, driver assistance systems, and stability control features, ensuring a high standard of safety for passengers. GAC Motor is also focusing on enhancing the driving experience through the integration of advanced infotainment systems and other smart features in its vehicles.

Customer satisfaction remains a priority for GAC Motor Philippines. The company offers comprehensive after-sales services, including a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty on all vehicles. Additionally, new owners receive one year of 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, providing added assurance and support during the first year of ownership. The brand aims to create a hassle-free ownership experience, from the purchasing stage through to maintenance and beyond.

Franz Decloedt, Brand Head of GAC Motor at Astara Philippines, noted the strong customer response to the brand’s efforts: “It has been an exhilarating year for us at GAC MOTOR thus far, and our incredible sales growth is a testament to the trust and confidence Filipino customers have in our brand. We are passionately driven to uplift the lives of Filipinos by delivering exceptional mobility innovations that meet the diverse needs of today’s consumers.”

GAC Motor Philippines continues to expand its reach, with current and upcoming dealership locations in key cities such as Angeles City, Alabang, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Manila Bay, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Quezon Avenue, Santa Rosa, and more. The expanding dealership network is expected to provide better access to the brand’s growing lineup, allowing more customers to experience GAC Motor’s offerings firsthand.
