Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced that senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women will be given free rides when they visit the city-run cemeteries during the observance of Undas 2024.

She also said that Manila North and South Cemeteries will be "off-limits" to any political activities to ensure a solemn observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

Free e-tricycles will be positioned at the gates to provide easier access to the vulnerable sectors during the cemetery operations from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Arnel Angeles was also directed to provide ambulance and personnel on standby to attend to emergency situations.

Manila Health Department (MHD) Chief Dr. Poks Pangan was also ordered to deploy doctors and medical personnel from the city government's six district hospitals.

Meanwhile, Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) Chief Re Fugoso will assign personnel to ensure the safety of children who will be required to obtain tags from the MDSW before they are allowed to enter the premises so that they can be easily located in case they get lost.

Several portalets will also be placed in various locations for the use of visitors.

Vendors and pets are not allowed and only local government tents can be installed inside the cemeteries.

The public was also reminded that from October 30 to November 3, no vehicles will be allowed to enter the two cemeteries and all interment and cremation will be suspended.

According to MNC Director Yayay Castaneda, the number of visitors usually reach millions during Undas season as the MNC is considered the biggest cemetery in the country.
