Farmer shot dead while eating in Quezon

LOPEZ, Quezon – A 59-year-old farmer was shot dead while eating in Sitio Banao, Barangay San Francisco B, this town, on Monday afternoon, Oct. 21.

Police identified the victim as Rufo Comia Driz.

Investigation said that a man arrived and shot the victim twice in the back as he was eating lomi (fresh egg noodles soup). 

Two bystanders were wounded by stray bullets – Asilo Villena, 29, and Mark Jayson Pasia Dimatulac.

Driz was taken to the Magsaysay Memorial District Hospital here where he was declared dead.

Villena and Dimatulac were also taken to the same hospital.

The suspect fled onboard a motorcycle towards Barangay Cogorin Ilaya here.
