NCRPO: 7 Vietnamese rescued from Pasay City prostitution den; Chinese operator arrested

Operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) rescued seven Vietnamese in a raid on a suspected human trafficking den in Pasay City on Monday night, Oct. 22.

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Sidney Sultan Hernia said the operation also resulted in the arrest of a Chinese operator of the prostitution den, identified as  Zhao Xing in Barangay 86.

Hernia said the raid stemmed from the confirmed intelligence reports about foreigners being exploited for prostitution by the suspect for both online and face-to-face transactions.

The clients are usually personnel of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

“The successful police operation resulted in the safe extraction of the seven Vietnamese nationals and the apprehension of the suspect, who will face complaints for violating sections of Republic Act 10364,” said Hernia.

The law,  also known as the "Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012," aims to eliminate human trafficking, especially involving women and children.
