Street dancing, free concert in Rosario, Cavite’s 18th Tinapang Salinas Festival

CAVITE – The local government unit of Rosario marked the town’s 18th Tinapang Salinas Festival on Oct. 18 and 19.

One of the highlights of the celebration was a street dance competition where14 teams from elementary and secondary schools in the municipality showed off their dancing skills.

Mayor Calixto D. Enriquez Elementary School and Bagbag National High School won the top prizes in the competition's elementary and high school categories, respectively.

Festival attendees were also treated to a free concert featuring TJ Monterde, Flow G, Skusta Clee, and other artists.

Present during the revelries were Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla, Mayor Jose Voltaire V. Ricafrente, Vice Mayor Bamm Gonzales, and other local officials.

According to Rosario Public Information Officer Sid Samaniego, the Tinapang Salinas Festival is a yearly event that celebrates the town’s main product – smoked fish.

Fishing is the primary livelihood of many residents of the coastal municipality hailed as the Tinapang Salinas Capital of the Philippines.
