P922,000 worth of shabu seized in anti-illegal drugs operations in QC


The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P922,760 worth of shabu in 11 anti-illegal drugs operations on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

According to the police report, 18 drug suspects were nabbed in the operations.

The District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) and Galas Police Station 11 seized P374,000 worth of illegal drugs.

One of the suspects, identified as Joey Fernando, 37, a resident of Barangay Tatalon, was arrested on October 19. Police recovered from him 55 grams of shabu, a cellular phone, a black sling bag, and the buy-bust money.

Another suspect, Dennis Hementera Maglalang, 49, of Sta. Cruz. Manila was nabbed on Sunday, October 20, after a police poseur-buyer bought P8,500 worth of shabu. Confiscated from the suspect were 55 grams of shabu and the buy-bust money.

QCPD Chief Melecio Buslig Jr. assured that they will continue their campaign against illegal drugs in the city.

The suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
