It has adopted the Charlie emergency preparedness and response protocols  to ensure maximum, timely, and responsive monitoring, warning, coordination, interoperability, and facilitation of preparedness and response readiness measures in the region.

Rescue assets of the provincial government as well as personnel of major government agencies have been prepared.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has placed the Cordillera Administrative Region under red alert due to Kristine.

CDRRMC chairperson Albert Mogol said the Charlie protocol has also been activated .

All local DRRMCs have been urged to facilitate critical preparedness activities before landfall to ensure strategic prepositioning of assets and resources, conduct risk assessment on the local level, and make the evacuation centers and their facilities ready.

Mogol compared the scenario of Kristine to typhoon “Lawin” that required pre-emptive evacuation in 2016.

Kristine is likely to make landfall as a typhoon on Thursday evening or Friday morning in Northern Luzon.

Charlie is the highest level of emergency preparedness.
