2 vehicles catch fire in Albay


LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Two vehicles caught fire in Daraga, Albay on Monday, Oct. 21.

Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5  spokesperson, said that the first incident happened in Purok 4, Barangay Bascaran.

A FORD EcoSport Titanium caught fire in Barangay Bascaran, Daraga, Albay on Monday morning, Oct. 21.

She said a Ford EcoSport Titanium owned by Charlyn Alcantara, 34, of Purok 4, Barangay Mayon caught fire while in transit and was totally burned. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were safe.

The second vehicle caught fire on the main street of the town proper.

Calubaquib said that a white Mitsubishi Mirage owned by Mikee Gina Mari Lobete Lovino, 28, a resident of Barangay Malabog here, was hit by fire while on hazard and parked on Regidor St., Barangay Market Site.

"Police personnel led by PEMS Christopher B. Atos in coordination with BFP-Daraga led by SFO3 de Lumen responded and upon arrival thereat, the fire was already extinguished by PSO Jovet Lova using a fire extinguisher," Calubaquib said in a statement.

Follow-up investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the fire and cost of damage.
