House Deputy Majority Leader Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre has advised Vice President Sara Duterte to "stop being childish".

This, as Acidre sounded off on the lady official's press conference on Friday, Oct. 18, which to at least one of his House of Representatives colleagues was a "meltdown".

“Our most respected VP should stop being childish. She only showed how selfish and self-centered she is," Acidre, who obviously wasn't holding back any punches, said in a statement Sunday, Oct. 20.

"Her display of arrogance only shows what she thinks of our democratic institutions and norms. Her demeanor in the press conference, as usual, says it all. It’s very telling,” he said.

In her presser, Duterte recounted an incident where she imagined beheading President Marcos, and acknowledged it as a moment that made her realize how toxic their relationship had become. The two were running mates during the 2022 elections.

Duterte further disclosed that she once sent a message to the President’s sister, Senator Imee Marcos, and warned that if the attacks against her continued, she would dig up the remains of their father, the late president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and throw it into the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

“Those who cannot win an argument intelligently resort to the use of their fists or violence. She could not even engage lawmakers in discussions about the CIF (confidential and intelligence funds) and disallowed funds intelligently. And she’s supposed to be a lawyer – only one of unbecoming at that,” he said.

“Let us give our citizens the respect they truly deserve by addressing this issue,” stressed the party-list solon.

In a separate statement Sunday, House Assistant Majority Leader Zambales’ 1st district Rep. Jay Khonghun said: “No amount of on-screen meltdowns can bury the issue of the alleged misuse of CIFs under either the Office of the Vice President (OVP) or DepEd. The Filipino people demand answers."

Refusing to mince his words like Acidre. Khonghun further said: "The Filipino people see through these diversionary tactics. They weren’t born yesterday. Pinagtatawanan ka na nila, Madam VP (They're laughing at you, Madam VP)."

"Now it’s up to you—will you continue being a comedy act or be woman enough to confront these issues," he added.
