Two Metro Manila police districts get new commanders

Two police districts in Metro Manila will have new commanders in a latest reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil said the latest reorganization involving four senior police officials is aimed at putting the right senior officers to positions that fit them.

For instance, Police Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas has already served sufficient time as director of the Northern Police District (NPD) and now requires a position that could lead to his promotion to the next rank.

Gapas was assigned as the deputy commander of the PNP’s Area Police Command- Northern Luzon, a two-star rank post.

Gapas will be replaced by Police Col. Josefino D. Ligan as director of the NPD which covers Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela.

On the other hand, Police Brig. Gen. Wilson Asueta was named as the deputy commander of the PNP’s Area Police Command- Southern Luzon.

He will be replaced by Police Col. Villamor Tuliao as director of the Eastern Police District which covers Pasig City, Mandaluyong, San Juan and Marikina.

The reshuffle takes effect on Saturday, Oct. 19.
