Olivarez urged employees to participate together with their kids aged five to 12 years old. Registration for the contest is open until Friday, October 25.

He said participants should dress up in their spookiest, funniest, and most creative attire to win exciting prizes at the City Hall grounds at 3 p.m.

He also reminded participants that costumes must be within the bounds of decency.

The local government will select three winners from both the employees and their children.

To win the prizes, the mayor said the criteria for judging will be 40 percent for creativity and originality, 30 percent for craftsmanship of the costume, 20 percent for characterization, and 10 percent for overall appeal, for a total of 100 percent.

Employees who win the first prize will receive P15,000, while the second prize will be P12,000, and the third prize will be P10,000. Winning children will also receive P10,000, P8,000, and P5,000.
