Iloilo City cops seize P8.7-M shabu in buy-busts


ILOILO CITY – Suspected shabu weighing 1.2 kilos valued at more than P8.7 million was confiscated from two drug pushers in buy-bust operations from 4 a.m. Oct. 17 to 4 a.m. Oct. 18.

SUSPECTED shabu worth P8.7 million was seized from two drug pushers in Iloilo City. 

Thirty-year-old Boss Jan-Jan yielded P6.8-million worth of shabu when he was arrested on the night of Oct. 17 by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) under Police Capt. Ryan Inot. 

Hours after his arrest, Boss Jan-Jan’s cousin Yder turned over P149,000 worth of shabu to CDEU operatives who were backed by the ICPO-Police Station 3 and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit of the Police Regional Office-6.

Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO information officer, said shabu valued at P442,000 was seized by the ICPO-Station 10 in Mandurriao District from alias Nonoy Bogart.

Iloilo City Police Office chief Police Col. Kim Legada  cited operating units for their achievements.

“These numbers are a clear indication of our strong partnership, collaboration, and coordination,” he said.

The two suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
