Accountant positions have emerged as the leading job openings nationwide, with over 36,000 vacancies available for qualified applicants, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Friday, Oct. 18.
Citing data from the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), DOLE reported a total of 36,018 accountant positions posted from Oct. 4 to 10, topping the list of job openings during this period.
Following closely are production machine operator vacancies, with 7,023 openings, and customer service assistant roles, with 6,375 positions available.
Other high-demand positions include 5,976 openings for call center agents and 3,968 for production workers, reflecting a diverse range of employment opportunities across various sectors.
The DOLE said that the figures were sourced from the Public Employment Service Office’s (PESO) Employment Information System (PEIS) and the government-run PhilJobNet, both of which serve as key tools for job matching and recruitment.
The surge in accounting vacancies underscored the increasing demand for finance professionals as companies stabilize in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the department noted.
DOLE urged job seekers to utilize online platforms like PhilJobNet to simplify their job application process and connect with more employers nationwide.
In support of the country’s economic recovery efforts, the DOLE said that it remains dedicated to enhancing labor market participation and collaborating with employers to generate more job opportunities.
