Police Major Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, said the couple figured in a heated argument at home on Tuesday night, Oct. 15.

Their altercation continued the following day, when the 39-year-old suspect went berserk and stabbed the victim multiple times with a screw driver.

Her 58-year-old mother tried to pacify them but she was also stabbed by the suspect in the right leg.

The victim was taken to a hospital here where she was declared dead.

Fernandez said the couple would often argue because of the suspect’s jealousy.

The suspect fled and was arrested in a sugarcane field. He faces a murder case. The murder weapon was recovered from the suspect.
