FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist’s First Nominee, Brian Poe, is one proud nephew after gracing the red carpet premiere of Lovi Poe’s new movie, Guilty Pleasure.

The movie premiere on Oct. 15 at SM North Edsa was star-studded, led by its cast Lovi Poe, JM De Guzman, Jameson Blake, and director Connie Macatuno. The event was also highly anticipated as hundreds of fans and moviegoers were present.

Lovi not only served as the lead in the movie, but she and her husband, Hollywood film producer Monty Blencowe, also co-produced via her own C’est Lovi Productions, the film with Regal Entertainment.

“My lolo, FPJ (Fernando Poe Jr.),  would have been proud to see my Tita produce her first film and contribute not only to the industry that he loved but, more importantly, to the people behind it,” said FPJ Panday Bayanihan’s first nominee.

The film centers around the complex relationship, personal struggles, and the impact of betrayal and revenge in the lives of the three lawyers played by Lovi, De Guzman, and Blake.

Brian stressed that the film tackled a very important issue by raising awareness of violence against women, adding the significance of having laws in place to protect the vulnerable sector in society, citing the Republic Act No. 11313 or Safe Spaces Act that fights against sexual harassment—which Sen. Grace Poe authored.

He further encouraged Filipinos to continue supporting local films celebrating the richness of Philippine cinema and culture. He further stated that the government must also capitalize on film tourism opportunities, citing Sen. Grace Poe’s push to establish a Philippine Film and Television Tourism Act of 2022 (Senate Bill No. 867).

The FPJ Panday Bayanihan fully backs initiatives aimed at empowering filmmakers and local talent and fostering the spirit of bayanihan to revitalize the country's film industry.
