Top-earning cities, municipalities, provinces recognized


The top-performing cities, municipalities and provinces in the Philippines were recently recognized in a ceremony by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF). 

The top 10 local government units (LGUs) were ranked by the BLGF for the fiscal years 2022 and 2023 based on local source revenues (LSR) in nominal terms; ratio of LSR to total current operating income (TCOI); year-on-year growth in LSR; and total current operating expenditures (TCOE) per capita.

LSR, according to the BLGF, “is composed of (i) tax revenues (real property taxbusiness taxand other taxes) and (ii) non-tax revenues (regulatory feesservice/user chargesreceipts from economic enterpriseand other receipts).”

The top 10 cities in the Philippines based on LSR in 2022 are: 

1. Quezon City - P21.07 billion

2. Makati - P15.36 billion 

3. Taguig - P12.22 billion

4. Pasig - P11.51 billion

5. Manila - P11.39 billion

6. Paranaque - P6.73 billion 

7. Davao City - P6 billion 

8. Pasay - P5.99 billion 

9. Mandaluyong - P4.8 billion 

10. Muntinlupa - P4.09 billion 

The top 10 cities in the Philippines based on LSR in 2023 are: 

1. Quezon City - P27.4 billion

2. Makati - P19.35 billion 

3. Taguig - P13.54 billion

4. Pasig - P13.13 billion

5. Manila - P12.42 billion

6. Paranaque - P7.9 billion 

7. Pasay - P7.34 billion 

8. Davao City - P6.67 billion 

9. Mandaluyong - P5.75 billion 

10. Cebu City - P4.69 billion
