ICPO chief Police Col. Kim Legada said on Wednesday, October 16, that the Termite Group was the perpetrator of the August 27 robbery of the Iloilo Supermart branch in Jaro District.

The ICPO has filed cases before the city prosecutor’s office against six suspects who all used the drainage system to ransack the establishment of P1.3 million.

The group was led by alias Christopher of Zamboanga del Sur province.  His cohorts were identified as Junrel and Iking  from Zamboanga del Sur and alias Neil, Boy, and Abanse from Mountain Province.

All six suspects remain at-large and Legada said they are coordinating with other law enforcement agencies in other parts of the country to arrest the perpetrators.

Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO information officer, said a Special Investigation Task Group was able to piece together what happened prior and before the robbery.

She said witnesses saw three suspects conducting surveillance at the grocery for days prior to the incident.

Investigators used CCTV footage to identify the white van and eventually tracked down where the suspects stayed – a resort in a town in Iloilo.
