In a social media post Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Olympic double gold medalist said his training stint with the club gave him enough confidence and encouragement to achieve his dream.

Thank you so much to the Tokushukai Gymnastics Club. Thank you very much for your kind support and encouragement,” wrote Yulo, who won gold medals in floor exercise and vault.

“Being able to train with great friends like you is a great motivator for me. Looking forward to training with you again soon. Hope you're all doing well!” he added.

The Tokushukai Gymnastics Club also shared the photos with Yulo in its own social media accounts.

Accompanying the post were pictures of the club members, as well as fellow gold medalists Shinnosuke Oka and Sugino Takaaki.

Takaaki was part of the Japanese team that won the team all-around gold along with Oka, who also won the gold in the individual all-around and horizontal bar.

It can be recalled that Yulo spent almost a decade training in Japan with then Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya before they parted ways last year.
