Phillips, who led the Green Archers to a vengeful 77-68 win over the Red Warriors last weekend, tipped his hat to Momowei who was a beast of his own and starred for his squad.

“As a big, he's always active. That takes a lot out of a guy. Coming into the game, I had a lot of respect for him. I knew that I needed to bring my A-game to always battle with him,” said Phillips.

“He was like, keep going, keep going. You got me, I got you back. More than the game, it's just that camaraderie,” he added. “From an energetic guy like him, it really gives me energy as well.”

The 6-foot-8 Phillips stayed composed despite Momowei's emphatic dunk in the second quarter, soaring high for his own thunderous slam in the next frame to the delight of the crowd.

Phillips piled up 27 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, a steal and two blocks for La Salle.

Momowei, for his part, played for almost 40 minutes and tallied 21 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
