BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) arrested a suspected drug pusher after he fell off a roof during a search warrant operation in Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14 here on Monday, October 14.
Armed with a search warrant, Investigation Agent 1 Alvin Clemente, team leader of PDEA-6 RSET, said they raided the house of the suspect, 34-year-old Rufert, and seized 275 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.8 million.

Clemente said that Rufert escaped but he was cornered when he fell off a roof of a house after an hour of hiding.
Rufert’s 34-year-old wife was also arrested when PDEA agents recovered a parcel containing suspected shabu with her name on it inside their house.
Over the weekend, nearly P1-million worth of suspected shabu were also seized by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in two barangays here.
Mayor Albee Benitez, in a press briefing on Monday, said that he has directed Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, Bacolod police director, to watch out for the entry of illegal drugs during the MassKara Festival.
Benitez reiterated his warning to drug pushers to desist from their illegal activities. “They can try, but they will never succeed,” he said.
Rufert was tagged as Top 1 target-listed drug personality in the region and considered as a big supplier of illegal drugs in the region, Clemente said, adding that the suspect was also identified as an alleged source of previously arrested drug suspects.
