SEC cited for investing in employees

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the first public sector recipient of the People Investor of the Year-Special Citation Award from the Investors in People (IiP) Philippines for its commitment to investing in its employees.

The award highlights the Commission’s exceptional efforts to create a supportive and rewarding work environment for its employees.

It also underscores the Commission's dedication to fostering a culture of excellence, where employees feel valued, empowered, and motivated to contribute to the vision, mission, and goals of the SEC, which aims to positively impact the growth of the Philippine business sector.

"This special citation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to investing in our people as much as we invest in the development and growth of corporations and the capital markets," SEC Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino said.

He added that "we believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and we strive to provide them with the resources, opportunities, and support they need to succeed."

In February 2024, the Commission was the first in the government financial sector and the third national government agency to be accredited by the IIP Philippines for its exceptional practices in promoting employee welfare through engagement, communication, and organizational culture.

Months later, the SEC was recognized with the Philippine Quality Award Level 3 for Mastery in Quality Management, which includes a focus on employee well-being and engagement.

Additionally, the SEC was awarded the Maturity Level 2 or Bronze Award under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) by the Civil Service Commission in 2023.

“These awards highlight the Commission’s continued efforts to create a positive work environment, drive employee development, and recognize the invaluable contributions of its workforce,” said the SEC.
