P4-M worth of LPG tanks, equipment seized in Batangas raid

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized around P4 million worth of illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) equipment and products in a raid in Sto. Tomas City in Batangas.

CIDG director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said the operation conducted over the weekend also resulted in the arrest of four people, including the two operators of the raided LPG refilling station.

Torre said the operation stemmed from the confirmed intelligence reports of the illegal operation of an LPG refilling station in Batangas.

Armed with a search warrant issued by a Laguna court, the CIDG operatives swooped down on the area and confiscated LPG tanks, gas fillers, and compressors amounting to P4 million.

The four arrested suspects are now under CIDG custody and will be slapped with criminal charges using the seized items.
