Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin Yul Servo Nieto will hold the "Kalinga sa Maynila Service Fair" in Tondo, Manila which is a caravan that goes around city barangays to provide basic services to its residents.

Lacuna-Pangan said the service caravan will be held on Wednesday, October 16 from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Barangay 43 at the corner of Sto. Nino and Morga Streets in Tondo.

"Hiniwalay lang namin ang ugnayan and services para mas madaming barangay ang mapuntahan (We separated the forum from the services so that more barangays can be visited)," the mayor explained.

With the service fair, residents no longer need to travel all the way to Manila City Hall to seek for social assistance.

In each forum, stalls are put up outside the venue to offer services from essential departments, bureaus, and offices of the city which include medical consultation, Philhealth profiling, free medicines, blood typing, fasting blood sugar (FBS), and electro-cardiogram (ECG) which will be provided by the Manila Health Department (MHD) under Dr. Poks Pangan.

The city's social welfare department, headed by Re Fugoso, will provide card application for solo parents as well as for persons and minors with disability. Replacement and renewal of their identifications cards and booklet will also be available.

The Veterinary Inspection Board (VIB) will provide free pet consultation, rabies vaccination and deworming.

Office of Senior Citizens' Affairs Head Elinor Jacinto said they will assist senior citizens with their payout inquiries, application and replacement of identification cards and booklets while the Office of Civil Registry under Encar Ocampo will assist those who have concerns about birth, marriage and death certificates.

Meanwhile, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under Fernan Bermejo will also provide a job fair where senior citizens and PWDs may apply for possible job opportunities.
