Four Filipino crewmen of a bulk carrier that was hit by a missile fired by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea arrived in the country on Sunday, Oct 13, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said.

In a statement, the DMW said the four Filipino seafarers were the second batch of the 21 Filipino crewmen of the M/V Minoan Courage which was attacked by Houthi rebels on Oct. 1.

The first batch composed of seven seafarers arrived home last October 9.

The DMW said the seamen arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 via Etihad Airways Flight 424.

“The remaining 10 seafarers are expected to return home soon in coordination with their licensed manning agencies and the shipowner,” the DMW said in a statement.

“The concerned manning agency also arranged hotel accommodations for the repatriated seafarers while they await their scheduled psychiatric evaluations,” it added.

The DMW said the four Filipino seafarers will receive all the necessary assistance from the government.
