Bacolod police net P6.8-M shabu from 3 drug pushers


BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office seized shabu valued at a total of P6.8 million from three suspected drug pushers here in buy-bust operations on Sunday and Monday.

Lawmen first arrested Biboy, 37, of Barangay Villamonte on Sunday, October 13, in Barangay Singcang-Airport at 9:32 p.m. Biboy yielded 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million.

Police Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 8, said the suspect is a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade.

Cayao said Biboy was subjected to a two-month monitoring due to an intelligence-driven information.

Police are conducting a background check on the suspect to determine his other cases and source of his contraband.

Hours later at 1:01 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, a 60-year-old businesswoman and her companion were apprehended in Barangay 9 and recovered from them were 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at P3.4 million.

Police Major Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 2, said the senior citizen, Elizabeth, 60, of Barangay 27 here, was an alleged big-time supplier of shabu in this city.

Tolentino said they had been monitoring Elizabeth since last year due to an intelligence-driven information.

He added that she was in the drugs watchlist of Police Station 4. 

Her companion, Jupet, 18, a pedicab driver, of Barangay Tangub here, was allegedly her accomplice in the illegal drugs trade, Tolentino said.

The BCPO said they remain dedicated to eliminating illegal drug activities in this city, particularly during this year’s Masskara Festival.
