Cops seize P42-M worth of shabu at NAIA

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized around P42 million worth of illegal drugs from a South African during an operation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport(NAIA) in Pasay City Saturday night, Oct. 12.

PNP-Drug Enforcement Group director Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta said the illegal drugs were discovered inside a black luggage of a 31-year old South African at the Terminal 3 of the NAIA.

“The luggage contains one transparent plastic pouch wrapped with black duct tape and packaging tape,” said Matta.

He said the pouch contains around 6.2 kilos of shabu with an estimated value of P42,160,000.

The confiscated illegal drugs were already turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) while the suspect is now under PDEG custody.
