The Philippine National Kendo Tournament, or PNKT, is an annual event organized by the United Kendo Federation of the Philippines. Held in different cities since 2016, the PNKT was unfortunately canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It made a successful return in 2023 in Manila, and this year marks its second competition since the pandemic.

Davao City, which previously hosted the PNKT in 2017, is excited to welcome the tournament back. In partnership with the City Government of Davao through the Office of City Sports Development Division led by Mr. Mikey Aportadera, the city aims to bring this prestigious event to the southern part of the Philippines.

Kendo is a Japanese martial art that simulates sword combat using a bamboo sword (shinai) to strike at designated targets on the opponent's body, while wearing protective armor (bogu). It emphasizes discipline, respect, and control.
