Police Major Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 2, said that the victim,  Raymond dela Torre of Bago City, Negros Occidental, was sitting on a chair taking a break when an unidentified person appeared and shot him in the forehead.

The suspect fled on board a motorcycle.

Tolentino said that the suspect may have waited for the victim to come out of work as he was seen sitting on his motorcycle and talking to someone on the phone prior to the incident.

Recovered from the crime scene was an empty caliber 9mm shell.

Tolentino said they already have a person of interest.

The victim was hired through an agency and had been working in the mall for four months.

Meanwhile, a 10-year-old elementary pupil was killed and two others aged seven and 10 were injured when their tricycle plunged off a 15-foot cliff in Sitio Peñahon, Barangay Minautok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, October 8.

Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Calatrava police chief, said the 35-year-old  driver lost control of the tricycle due to slippery road following heavy rain and crashed.

The victims were taken to a hospital where the fatality died from his injuries. The injured were later released.

Benoman said both parties have  reached an initial settlement.
