As a company that continues to strive to make a difference in society, Honda is modifying its tagline to a new global brand slogan, which is now “The Power of Dreams - How We Move You.” This reflects Honda’s mission of continuously making solutions that offer people the joy and freedom of mobility from the present to the future.
To attain its commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2050, Honda recently announced its exciting lineup of electrification projects in the Philippines. These products include a new e:HEV model from Honda Cars, the first BEV from Honda Motorcycles, and a new generation of power products. These new and upcoming models signify Honda’s commitment to carbon neutrality in the Philippines.
Honda is also reaffirming its commitment in expanding its electric vehicle portfolio. The Honda 0 Series will spearhead the automotive division’s efforts with a target launch year of 2026 worldwide. The Honda 0 Series will eventually grow into a wide and diversified range of vehicles that will suit various needs
Battery-powered handheld products
The strengthening of Honda’s commitment to carbon neutrality begins with some of its most practical products: handheld power tools.
Honda has applied electrification to its new range of direct-current handheld (DCHH) battery-powered products to make personal and professional tasks easier and highly efficient.
The first of which is the leaf blower, designed to effortlessly clear away leaves from lawns and driveways whether on wet or dry surfaces. The hedge trimmer is designed for pruning, clearing, and trimming shrubs, hedges, and bushes. The lawn trimmer possesses stand-out features for trimming, weed removal, grass mowing, and grass trimming. A chainsaw is also available for clearing storm damage, cutting dead tree branches, and pruning fruit trees.
These inventive direct current handheld products allow users to do their tasks with a simple click of a button; no more pull-start. This range highlights a universal battery system, which allows users to easily swap and recharge the battery in moments without forced breaks.
Convenient and comfortable to use, these products are lightweight, portability, easy to operate, and have a lower noise output. The reduced noise output and low vibration make these tools fit for use in residential areas, hotels, condominiums, or small and medium-sized gardens. The zero-emission technology allows them to be used both inside and outside of any facilities. The low-maintenance design means they do not require periodic maintenance, unlike a combustion engine-driven power tool.
Innovative two-wheel electric vehicle
Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), distributor of Honda motorcycles, unveils its first two-wheeled Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The all-new EM1 e: is a two-wheeled BEV powered by a Honda Brushless Electric Motor. The motor is powered by a removable Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, which is a high-quality lithium-ion battery.
This electric motorcycle comes with a front disc brake, twin suspension, LCD digital display, and all-LED lighting system. It comes with two riding modes: a Standard Mode and Econ Mode Riding.
These features make it accessible for various individuals and perfect for daily urban riding from home to the office, school, coffee shops, and other errands.
It can be recharged with an off-board charger, designed to make it more convenient. The removable battery makes it easy to charge if the garage has no nearby outlet, as well as ensures the bike’s security, as it cannot operate without the battery. The battery and charger are UN R136 compliant, global safety standard for batteries and charging.
“Our commitment to expanding the joy of mobility, and comfort to every Filipino, has always been at the forefront of everything we do,” said Honda Philippines, Inc. President Ms. Sayaka Arai. “We, at Honda Philippines is excited about the potential of these innovative products to contribute to a clean and empowered future for Filipino families.
