DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara and KCFI President and Executive Director Elvira "Rina" Lopez presided over the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Oct. 9.

The renewed partnership aims to improve access to quality basic education by producing curriculum-based video lessons, with a particular focus on Early Childhood Development and grades K to 3.

The lessons will be available on Knowledge Channel's on-air, online, and offline platforms, as well as through DepEd’s online learning portal.

According to DepEd, the partnership also encompasses more than just content development.

KCFI will assist DepEd by offering capacity-building programs designed to enhance the reading and mathematics skills of public school teachers and administrators.

On its part, DepEd will establish policy guidelines, appoint a Partnership Coordinator, and work closely with KCFI to implement the initiatives, including collaborating on joint fundraising efforts to ensure sustainability.

For 25 years, DepEd and KCFI have worked together to enhance the quality of basic education in the Philippines by developing and distributing multimedia learning resources that align with the DepEd curriculum.

Their collaborative efforts also encompass professional development programs for teachers, school principals, and Schools Division Superintendents.

DepEd stated that the partnership also highlights both organizations' commitment to supporting the National Learning Recovery Plan (NLRP) and addressing digital learning gaps, following President Marcos’ directives.
