His running mate is his wife, Janelle. The two filed their COCs on Oct. 1 with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Taguig at the Taguig Convention Center in Barangay Ususan, the venue for the filing of candidates. This is the second time that Janelle will be running for vice mayor of Taguig.

Cerafica was the congressman of the Taguig-Pateros district for three straight terms from 2010 to 2019.

The total number of voters in Taguig has increased with the transfer of the 10 EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays to the city from Makati.

These are  Cembo, Comembo, East Rembo, Pembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside, Rizal, South Cembo and West Rembo.

With the addition, Taguig voters will choose 12 councilors for each of the two districts from the current eight. The Comelec issued a resolution approving the increase.

According to a concurrent resolution approved by the Senate and the House of Representatives, the 10 EMBO barangays have about 336,873 residents including 208,716 registered voters. This increased Taguig’s population to 1.3 million.

The Comelec said the filing of COCs will be from Oct. 1 to 8.
