58-year-old pedestrian dead after being hit by motorcycle in Pandacan

A 58-year-old male pedestrian died after being hit by motorcycle in Pandacan, Manila, on Saturday, October 6.

The Manila Police District identified the suspect as Moises Garcia, 49, a resident of Sta. Ana, Manila.

According to the police report, the suspect was traversing along the eastbound lane of Paco-Sta. Mesa Flyover in Pandacan, when he hit the victim identified as Rodolfo Capariño, who was walking the same direction in the middle of the roadway.

Due to the force of the impact, the motorcycle rider and the pedestrian fell on the road and sustained several injuries. 

The pedestrian was rushed by a responding ambulance from the Manila Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) to the Philippine General Hospital, while the suspect was brought to the Ospital ng Maynila.

He was later pronounced dead while undergoing treatment at around 1:42 a.m. on Monday, October 7.

Police said the suspect may face homicide charges.
