Police station in Iloilo City rewarded lechon for anti-drug campaign achievement


ILOILO CITY – A police station here was awarded a lechon or roasted pig for their achievement in the anti-illegal drugs campaign.

Police Station 1 (City Proper District) led by Police Capt. Roque Gimeno III ranked first among the 10 police stations with P1.29-million worth of suspected shabu. Police Station 1 arrested six drug pushers in five operations.

Police Station 1’s accomplishment earned them one lechon or roasted pig from the Iloilo city government.

The city government cited lawmen for their accomplishments.

“This demonstrated the tireless effort of our law enforcement to crack down on illegal drug activities,” said Joy Fantilaga, spokesperson of Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Police seized suspected shabu worth P13.1 million in anti-drug operations in this city in September.

Iloilo City Police Office chief Police Col. Kim Legada said 1.9 kilos of shabu were recovered from 81 suspected drug pushers.

The City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Capt. Ryan Inoto seized 740.78 grams of shabu worth more than P5 million.
