21 wanted persons collared in Cordillera


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police captured 21 wanted individuals in the Cordillera region from September 27 to October 3.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division said the Baguio City Police Office apprehended eight, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office with four, Kalinga and Mountain Province PPOs with three each, and Abra, Apayao, and Ifugao PPOs with one each.

Four were most wanted persons, two on the municipal and two on the station levels.

Sixty-four municipalities and six police stations in Baguio City reported zero crime incidents due to increased police presence. 

No crimes were recorded in 25 municipalities in Abra, 10 in Benguet, nine in Mountain Province, eight in Ifugao, seven in Apayao, and five in Kalinga. 

In Baguio City, Police Stations 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 10 were crime-free.

The PRO-Cordillera’s anti-criminality campaign yielded positive results, with a significant 60 percent drop in the Peace and Order Indicator and a reduction from two to one in the average weekly crime rate compared to the same period last year.

The campaign achieved a 71.43 percent crime clearance efficiency and 42.86 percent crime solution efficiency. This, the PRO-Cordillera said, reflects the commitment and effectiveness of the police force in crime prevention and resolution.
