Mayor Ben Abalos and Vice Mayor Menchie Abalos led the turnover ceremony of the service vehicles that will used by the local government unit's (LGU) various departments and offices.

The vehicles are two H100 vans for Mandaluyong's City Epidemiology & Surveillance Unit (CESU)-City Health Department and City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) bought using the performance challenge fund (PCF) given as incentive for the city's recognition.

The city government also procured six motorcycles, a cargo truck, and dropside van to be used by its General Services Department.

Mandaluyong received its 7th SGLG award in December last year, making it one of the 22 LGUs in the country, and one of two LGUs in the National Capital Region (NCR) that has consistently won the award.

Under the SGLG program, LGUs must pass the following governance areas: financial administration and sustainability; disaster preparedness; social protection and sensitivity; health compliance and responsiveness; sustainable education; business-friendliness and competitiveness; safety, peace and order; environmental management; tourism, heritage development, culture and arts and youth development.

In addition to getting this year’s SGLG marker, the LGU awardees are also eligible for the SGLG Incentive Fund to finance their local development initiatives in support of national goals and strategic thrusts.
