Cops destroy P27-M marijuana


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana worth P27 million in eradication  operations in Mountain Province and Benguet on Tuesday, October 1.

LAWMEN torch marijuana plants seized in the Cordillera region. 

Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said 75,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P15 million and about 100 kilos of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops worth P12 million were discovered in Mount Balitoc, Barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province.

Peredo said in Benguet, 2,000 FGMJP valued at P400,000 were found in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan. 

These were destroyed onsite and sufficient samples were taken to the PRO-CAR Regional Forensic Unit for evidence and documentation.

Police are determining their cultivators and identifying other marijuana plantations in the two areas.
