Buslig takes over as QCPD chief


Police Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. took over as the new chief of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) during turnover rites on Tuesday, October 1.

The ceremony was held at the QCPD Camp Karingal, Quezon City.

Buslig replaced Maranan who led the QCPD for two years and six months.

Maranan was appointed as the new director of the Central Luzon Regional Police Office (PRO-3) as part of a recent reshuffle ordered by PNP Chief General Rommel Marbil.

The new QCPD chief said he aims to strengthen the partnership between the city government and the police in ensuring public safety and bolstering anti-crime efforts.

Buslig served as the Deputy Director for Administration of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-QCPD

He was also the Deputy Director for Operations in the QCPD.

The ceremony was attended by City Mayor Joy Belmonte, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO)- Regional Director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., and other police officials.
