LG teases innovations at CES 2024

January is an exciting start of the year for the tech industry as CES is all about making big splashes. And among the names we're keeping a watchful eye of, is LG.

And what do they have in store for us? The tiny glimpse they’re showing right now is the DukeBox and the Bon Voyage, very cool devices that take a big swing at lifestyle.

The DukeBox is an audio device that combines style and vacuum tube audio. Taking advantage of other LG tech, there is a transparent OLED panel. In a press release, LG described it as:

“It aims to deliver a new music experience by combining old-fashioned sensibilities with state-of-the-art technology, seeking to reinvent the depth of audio and video experience with a modernized jukebox.”

Quite frankly, I have no idea what that meant. Basically, LG is hyping up how cool their newest product is. By the looks of the image, there’s a vacuum tube behind an OLED panel–which appears to be touchable to skip tracks or adjust audio. With a vacuum tube, music has a more warm and natural sound, almost as if you were listening to the music live, which indeed, sounds quite captivating. There are front facing speakers at bottom and 360 speakers up top. LG hasn’t mentioned any price yet, which we expect will be revealed at CES. If we had to guess, the DukeBox is dang expensive.

In door number two, LG will be unveiling a new version of its Bon Voyage – a trailer that made me think of Tesla’s Cybertruck, for some reason. Anyway, the Bon Voyage is a high-tech trailer you latched onto your vehicle so you could go out camping, soul search in the wilderness, or just on extended road trips. Its features include a bed, refrigerator, an electric stove, water purifier, Styler and shoe products! Should an apocalypse befall on us within the next couple of years, the Bon Voyage is your ticket to survival! Okay–okay, knock-on-wood. But hey, if glamping is your thing, the Bon Voyage will be your best bud. Once again, LG hasn’t revealed the price, and by our estimation, it’s going to be so dang expensive. We don’t even know if this will reach our shores but it is an interesting product despite all my little jabs at it.

One more product LG is keen to talk about more is the DUOBO. It’s a capsule coffee machine that looks like it’s meant to go to space and land on the moon. What’s special about this is you will be able to extract from two capsules at the same time–which is nice.

Other products LG intends to showcase are the Gram Fold, XBOOM, StandbyMe Go–that portable TV thing inside a briefcase–brid.zzz sleep aides, Tiiun Mini for indoor plants, and the CineBeam Qube–which is this really cool-looking little projector and yes we want to review this.

CES 2024 will launch on January 9 to 12, so stay tune!
