Police Regional Office 4A identified the victims as Patrolman John Carl Austria Delyola and Patrolman Adriane Carandang Atienza, members of the 401st A Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4A (RMFB 4A).

The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) said the two police officers were conducting a checkpoint along Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Tubuan II when a pickup truck traveling from Tagaytay towards Silang hit the victims and the checkpoint signage.

“Tragically, this collision resulted in the victims being thrown and sustaining severe physical injuries,” Cavite PPO’s statement said.

The victims were rushed to Silang Specialist Medical Center for medical treatment but Delyola was later declared dead.

The suspect, identified as alias Arvee, was taken to Ospital ng Tagaytay, where he tested positive for alcohol, as confirmed by the attending physician.

Alias Arvee is now under the custody of Silang Municipal Police Station.

In a statement posted on Facebook, RMFB 4A honored Delyola and expressed condolences to his bereaved family.

“His unwavering service, dedication, and loyalty shall stand as an enduring tribute,” the statement said.
