New Laguna police chief appointed


SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna – Police Col. Harold Depositar has been replaced as chief of the Laguna Police Provincial Office.

Depositar was replaced in an acting capacity by Police Col. Mel Yamashita Unos.

An order dated Wednesday, January 24, replacing Depositar was issued by the Philippine National Police-Directorate for Personnel and Records Management in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The order took effect immediately and was signed by DPRM chief Police Major Gen. Belli Tamayo.

The Police Regional Office 4-A was told to implement the order within 24 hours.

Depositar was relieved following a letter from Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez dated January 4, 2024.

Contents of the letter and the reason why Depositar was replaced were not disclosed.

Unos was a former police chief of Binan City, Laguna.

Depositar assumed the post on June 30 last year.
