Cybercrime cops net 2 wanted persons


BAGUIO CITY – The Philippine National Police-Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU)-Cordillera arrested two most wanted persons on January 16 and 17.

POLICE arrest a cybercrime suspect in Cavite on January 16. 

RACU chief Police Col. Maria Theresa Guinto-Pucay identified the suspects as Roland Cerico Araojo, 46, and Danica dela Cruz Valdez, 21, listed as the No. 1 and No. 2 MWP of the RACU-Cordillera, respectively. 

Araojo was apprehended on January 16 in Dasmariñas City, Cavite while Valdez was nabbed on January 17 in Malolos City, Bulacan.

Suspects were arrested through warrants of arrest issued by Judge Ivan Kim B. Morales of the Baguio City Regional Trial Court Branch 59 for violation of the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998 (Credit Card Violation Act) as amended by RA 11449.

Pucay commended her men for promptly implementing arrest warrants related to Anti-Cybercrime Prevention Act violations.

She reminded the people to exercise caution online as cybercriminals often use enticing offers that seem too good to be true to lure individuals into illegal activities.
