Magno, in a speech before the AmCham meeting on January 19, guaranteed to the AmCham Mindanao Chapter, headed by Executive Director Ebb Hinchcliffe and President Jocelyn Carampo, that Mindanao will receive unwavering attention and care during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration.

The government official expressed intention to not just propel business forward but also construct a more promising future for their descendants and their offspring.

He said Marcos has been consistent with his plans. “President Marcos Jr. has consistently affirmed that projects and programs will remain allocated to Mindanao throughout his tenure,” said Magno, adding that he is aware of the concerns shared by the people in Mindanao.

"After the 2022 elections, I know that at the back of the minds of Mindanaoans, akin to my own, is whether Mindanao will receive a level of support comparable to that provided by the preceding administration. We can get the same support," Magno said.

He cited individuals from Mindanao, such as Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Minah Pangandaman, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., Vice President Sara Duterte, and himself, ready to support and address the issues in Mindanao.

Magno acknowledged the efforts and contributions of former AmCham Mindanao Chapter president Philip “Sonny” Dizon who led the group from 2012 to 2017 and one of its pioneering members.

Dizon was killed early this month in a motorcycle accident in Davao del Sur.
